Abstrak
Problem – based learning (PBL) is an educational innovation designed for greater diversity and deeper engagement in learning. Learning is diversified through the application of interdisciplinary knowledge and multiple perspectives in problem solving, and engagement is enhanced through independent and collaborative learning in the problem – solving process as well as by taking advantage of the possibilities of future learning technologies. This collection represents another quantum leap in this field of study by scrutinizing the potential role of PBL in the quest for novelty, creativity, and innovation in education. One of the key features of PBL is immersion in a problem context. In this volume, we see how such immersion develops not only problem – solving acumen but also insight, intuition, and inventive thinking. Various interesting ideas and examples are put forward to demonstrate the interconnection between PBL and creative ways of knowing, creative processes, creative learning environments, and creative pedagogy.
