Abstrak
Rubish comes from many places. People in houses, schools and offices throw lots of things away. Factories, farms and building sites make rubbish too. Most rubbish in thrown into bins, but sometimes it is dropped on the ground or dumped in rivers and seas. Dumped rubbish can spread disease and cut or poison wild animals. Trucks come to take away rubbish that had been left out in bins and bags. This truck has a special lift that picks up big bins and empties them into the truck. When rubbish has been collected, it is taken to a place called a transfer stasion. Truck tip their loads of rubbish down a deep chute at the transfer stasion. A heavy mental ram pushes the rubbish into enormous metal boxes. In this book you can find out more about rubbish and follow its journey to be buried, burned, or recycled into something new. Rubbish and recycling is part of an exciting series of books for children who are beginning to read on their own. The easy-to-read text has been specially written with the help of a reading expert.
