Abstrak

BEYOND: Java, the first volume of the art book series BEYOND, is taking you to the photographic exploration of Java island like you have never seen it before. This rendezvous of humanity is the accumulation of more than two years of ethnological documentation, 10,000 km traveled by motorbike, and a visual selection from over 40,000 photographs, unveiling an exceptional mosaic of Java's authenticity and diversity through soulful images and incredible life stories. Marius Moragues is a French travel photographer who has been living in Indonesia since 2015. He is a former backpacker who explored most of Southeast Asia but it is the last country of his list, Indonesia, which compelled him to delay his return to his native land. The warm welcome he received from Indonesians, and their wonderful kindness, was something he had not found elsewhere. The photographer described it as a life-changing experience and made Indonesia his new home.
